1969 world pool, wringer washer

This was toward the end of their production they quit in 1971 making the whirlpool in Kenmore wringer washers.

The world pool and Kenmore wringer washers were the best performing and safest of all the Modern wringer washers. This one does indeed seem to be very lightly used looking.

Before finally landing our Maytag wringer really considered Whirlpool. A few really nice low use machines cropped up in our neck of the woods and was that tempted.

Went with Maytag on feeling that spares (especially NOS) would be far easier to find.

Time seems to have borne this out as while one has seen tons of NOS Maytag wringer parts those for WP/Kenmore and even SQ are not so easily sourced.

Hi laundress, I would definitely agree with your reasoning it would be easier to own an Maytag wringer washer today it was a little bit more durable product than the other brands sold in the US.

I would rate the whirlpool in the Speed Queen‘s about equal in durability.

Maytag only ever made three products that were superior in durability in my opinion, the wringer washer, their automatic washer, and their garbage disposal. Unfortunately, in all three of these products, durability came with poorer performance, there’s always a Trade off and compromises in life.
