Hi! Marco, a Shampooer is for Deep Cleaning beyond Vacuuming of Wall-To-Wall Carpet and Rugs. It is similar looking to an Upright Vacuum Cleaner or a Shop Vacuum, although some more current Brand/Models are also Portable, for quick Shampooing of Spotted areas rather than a whole Rug or Wall-To-Wall Carpets. There a few of the Shampooers that use a Dry-Chemical, called Capture and others use a Sudzy Solution, mixed with Hot Water to Deep Clean. They all have a Pressure Spray that they use to force the Solution into the Rug/Carpet, you then allow it to stay on the Rug/Carpet for 15-minutes to 30-minutes, depending on how dirty the area{s} are and then the Shampooers have a Suction similar to a Vacuum Cleaner to pull the Solution out of the Rug/Carpet and you then allow the Rug/Carpet to Dry, before placing Furniture back onto the Cleaned areas.
