Help Hitachi won’t wash properly

Help Hitachi won’t wash properly, The issue with my Hitachi PF – 950p is that when it runs a wash cycle the machine works fine with the MPower spinning counterclockwise but it appears to try to do a spin in the Counterclockwise direction while running a wash cycle, Here is a video of what the machine is doing

It looks like a clutch/brake problem. The clutch isn't releasing drive to the basket for wash. It might simply not be fully braked - it relies on the drum still spinning a bit when the brake engages. It must be still spinning a bit to ensure that when the brake is applied to the drum, the clutch pawl releases the clutch. If for any reason such as a power cut the spinner slowed to a stop without being braked, the clutch won't release properly.
First, try this...

1. Set the timer to spin. 2.Allow it to get up to full spin speed. 3.Open the lid and the brake should engage immediately. You should hear a loud clunk as the brake engages, if all is working right, once the drum has braked to a stop, you can try a wash and see if it behaves now. If it is now OK, it just hadn't braked properly.

Otherwise you may need to dismantle the belt, pulley and clutch assembly and check it over. The clutch spring can get mangled and not release properly.
the other thing to check is operation of the spin solenoid.

That the spin solenoid works properly, I’ll have to try the first method tomorrow thank you I’ll put a video of it up

did you also check if the washer motor works like filling with water and drain the water before the spin?

That appears to be all working

But trying the method that gizmo said has not appeared to fix the problem, how do I take apart the clutch?

I'll think about this a bit and get back. I haven't touched one of these for over 20 years so it's a fuzzy memory.
A couple of thoughts to start...

1. The solenoid moves a brake arm. the arm does 2 separate jobs - engage with the drum brake, and activate the clutch. The arm will have a finger on it (maybe like a plastic pointer) that pokes into a set of plastic teeth, like the teeth on a gear wheel, that surrounds the clutch.When the arm snaps back at the end of spin, it grabs the brake to stop the drum ,but another part of the lever protrudes between a couple of the plastic "gear teeth" and rotates the plastic slightly. This is what releases the clutch.
2. The clutch is a simple spring. The last maybe 10mm of the spring sticks out and engages with a slot in the <span style="text-decoration: underline;">inside</span> of the plastic "gear wheel".

I wonder if this 10 mm sticking out bit of the spring has snapped off?

Or maybe the "poking finger" of the brake arm is broken?
