Growing up we had an old stove, I'm guessing from the 50s maybe, and I've been trying to identify the make. Unfortunately I don't have any pics of it but here is what I can remember of it. Anyone have ideas as to the manufacturer or have pics perhaps? The stove was white, about 48" wide, 4 burners on the left side, the left rear burner could be lowered about 15" so that a put could be inserted for deep frying. Beneath the 4 burners was a drawer the size of an oven which pulled out. I think it was a warming oven but my mom used it to store the pots & pans. Below that was a storage drawer. To the right of the burners was a flat area. Underneath this was the oven with another storage drawer below it. The elements were operated by push buttons and there was a clock in the center of the back panel. There was a large knob for the timer and another large knob to control the oven temperature. This knob had an outer ring which clicked right and left to set the oven to broil or bake.

Any ideas? Thanks.

Push buttons, eh? My best guess would have to be GE or Hotpoint. Although, I think I once saw an old ad for a Philco stove with push buttons to control the burners...

Gibson also used push buttons in the early fifties. The switches were actually made by General Electric, but had an extra button the GE ranges did not have. The settings were, off, simmer, very low, low, medium low, medium, medium high, and high. The back left burner that lowered was called an "Ups - a - Daisy". I have one of these that is a 1950 model. Great Stove!!! Very even heating.

Thanks for the links to the pics but those weren't the stove at all. The one I remember was free standing, had the backsplash with all the controls on it. I think there were 2 sets of push buttons on the left for the left rear and front burners, then the 2 knobs for the oven and the clock and then the right side had the pushbuttons for the right rear and front burners.

Yes that is getting closer. Ours had a window on the right side oven door. And I do remember it had the red light to indicate when the oven had reached the set temperature. A signal bell also went off once when the set temperature was reached. The handles on the door didn't look like that however. I see the 4 sets of push buttons for the burners. What are the other push buttons for on either end?

On the far left is a light button, far right are the four oven control buttons:

OFF
BK = bake
TB = timed bake
BR = broil

See link for better photos. Unfortunately this was all I could coax out of Google's image search. Some G.E. models from that era do have a window in the oven door.
