Ugh I could just cry. I am 8 days post-op and just stuck my head in the dishwasher to find this mess. I am guessing this isn't something I can easily replace with another mesh and need to buy the entire assembly? This is on my KDB-21B.

DON'T WANT TO BURST YOUR BUBBLE...

Jen,
Did you happen to notice that it says it is no longer available? Whirlpool no longer supplies it but did you check the seller to see if they still have any?

Having a spare one of those supports is good insurance for a long life for any 21 or 22 series Kitchenaid. And at the price they show, I might buy 2 of them!

Keep us posted as I know there are probably other people on here who would like to lay their hands on a spare one too.

Pat yourself on the back, Jen!

You DID find the part you need on your own or identified it, anyway. Now you gotta get your hands on one (or two!). Now, I get to welcome you to the world of vintage appliances and the people who love (hate?) them. That means scouring the web for hard to find parts, fixing them and then using them while nursing the headache you got from banging your head on them! Breathe. You'll find it while knowing you have both the sympathetic understanding and support of all here...

Thanks! I seen that but was holding my breath hoping to find it cheaper. I think for now my 21 is going to have to be pulled out and put my 18 in.
