Westinghouse Fridge

Reminds me of one of the jokes my father-in-law would tell. He was a retired cabinet maker and loved a good (and sometimes corny) joke. A man opens his fridge to find his dog sitting inside. He asks his dog "What are you doing in here?" The dog replied "This is a Westinghouse, right?" The man replied "Yes." The dog replied "I'm westing!" My father-in-law passed away 13 years ago today. I had the greatest father-in-law anyone could have ever asked for.

That fridge is in very nice shape and the BIN price is indeed right.  I wish the seller had posted a picture with the freezer door open.

Is this the type that defrosts according to how many times the door has been opened?

Thanks Pat!!

Thanks for posting that one - I have been looking for that model in a 2 door.
Just bought it!

door openings

When a kid my folks Westy unit looked about like this. Somewhere in my stuff I have the operators manual, my mom saved everything. I think it had receipes in it.. We the sold the frig with a house back about 1968, it was "the old unit" that was in the basement bar/TV area in Midwest home.

Ours DID have a counter that somehow "counted" the door openings. At first I thought this was total BS, thus I purposely would click the switch to prove that is how it worked. When the unit was older it did not defrost, either the integrator that counted clicks failed, or the heater element.

Even when the newer refridges we got, my mom still thought that they counted the door openings. ie limit the number of times the door is opened
