Hey Guys,

I received a call from a recent Wanted Ad this evening from a girl who has this Wilkins Servis automatic sitting in her parent's shed. Sorry that the pictures aren't the best quality but i really wanted to share.

The machine is located in rural Victoria and I will be arranging for it to be shipped to me as soon as i can. Apparently, it was still working when it was put in the shed about 5 years ago.

This machine would be a UK import. It's quite ironic that i actually drove through that town only 3 weeks ago when on my holiday and these are the first adverts i had placed for a Wilkins Servis automatic.

Will obviously post more and better pictures when the machine eventually makes it way to Qld.

Cheers
Leon

If it is badged as a "Wilkins Servis" rather than a "Servis", doesn't that mean it is Australian made?

My understanding was, all WS machines were Australian made to UK design, using a mix of imported and local parts, except for the Maytag clones and the little Toshiba-sourced machine, the last machine to be badged "Wilkins Servis."

Chris.

Will know more when it arrives

Chris,

You maybe right, but i have also been told that these early machines were fully imported from those who used to work on them.

I'll know more when I see the serial number.

Hi Leon, congratulations on you find, you might just give us UK bods the answer to our "Holy Grail" yet!!!

Where the UK imports the earlier machines , then the Maytag design?? or where they run together??

Fingers crossed, just imagine what else is out there!!!Happy hunting, Mike
