Sunday's Detergent Report:
Last week I reviewed new Tide HE for front loaders which over all did pretty well. However some of you are ONLY Unilever fans so this week they had the NEW DUAL ACTION WISK on sale. Its been quite a few years since I have seen the "Dual Action" pretreating ability advetised on the same label as the words "WISK" and "LOW SUDSING" so it had to be bought and put through its paces!!

Overall it performs MUCH better than the TIDE product, the rinse was clearer, the suds noticably lower, the slosh sound higher so you know your clothes are getting smacked in the DYNA-SURGE wash action!

See the photo graphic evidence for yourselves!

Actual first spin after wash

What is so cool about this machine particularly is that it really wrings the clothes so that any soap left in will be thrown agianst the glass. No other frontloader I have will do this. When it jumps into spin embedded suds jump across the glass to the mega Bendix drain where they are Wisked away to sewer land with all the dirt!

The TIDE made the whole glass white you could not see in the agitator tumbler at all! Wisk leaves viewing pleasure.

See the photographic evidence and judge for yourselves.

I think TARGET may have something to say

about the logo we'll see.

Nudie of the backside: Its 3X concentrated, if you remember from last weeks review TIDE was 2X concentrated. BUT WISK was also $7.++ a bottle!!!!! However I was able to use even less detergent than the TIDE product. The CAP on the WISK bottle is MUCH smaller than the cap on the TIDE so even if you are washerclod you will still use less product per load.

Next week LIQUID DASH if I can ever find it!!!!

Overall on a scale of 6 AGITATORS

6 AGITATORS being VINTAGE POWDER DASH!!

I give TIDE a THREE AGITATOR rating. They have worked on their chronic oversudsing addiction.

I give new WISK a 4 AGITATOR rating for making it that much harder for washer-clods to overuse the product, for its 3X concentration, for avoiding any floral scent YAY!, for its very low sudsability.

However it is not as low sudsing as DUOMATIC from Australia nor DIXAN from the Netherlands, but this product is on a par with PERSIL from Germany.

Wisk has come a long way from the sudz-lock inducing blue liquid in the little yellow, white and red can. It did smell good---- back when. Certain sudz-lock death to a Whirly/'Kenmo product and ANY F/L.

I tried their HE product back in the 1990's and like the other HE products was not impressed with its low-suds capabilities (although drastically better than the original formulae)----so just went right back to regular (and less expensive) detergents with reduced dosing.

I'll take your word for it that this stuff is an improvement.
Oh, but could never be a substitute for that WONDERFUL DIXAN!
In the meantime if I want low-suds---I'll stick with FAB.

Thanks for your expert ratings, Jon! I think you should review all of the HE detergents for us...Cheer, Method, All, etc. Love your Bendix!

Jet------

TAB has been back in the southern markets for years. I tried some "Black Cherry" TAB and really liked it.

Georgedon re-introduced me to FAB a few years ago and I have been loyal ever since----for dark or bright colors that is. Or whenever I want a low-sudser. It has three different scents---I love the "Rainforest" the best, and those scents do rinse out pretty well so there is never a strong residual.
I was really surprised the first time I tried it (the new formulae that is) as it was in the summertime and as always in the summer I am working in the yard and garden getting filthy. It is very powerful stuff and was my "mainline" detergent before I discovered Viva.

Costco's "Institutional" Powder in the white pail, has a light citrusy scent that completely rinses away and is nearly suds-proof. I always reccomend it to F/L folks. I like that you can use as much as you want (if you have a really filthy load) and not worry about over-sudsing. Gansky can give you a report on it---I keep him supplied.

Jet, the bottle appears to be of one piece construction, i.e., the top portion cannot move independently of the bottom. I'm glad it's a good product, but what's dual action about it?!
