The absolute worse was the 80's setup with  a  w/d closet in a carpeted hallway. .

Wish I had a picture of our house we had in Metairie, LA  (suburb of New Orleans) the laundry room was between the master bath and the hall bath and had dirty clothes drops from the bath rooms to the laundry room and also the linen closteds had a false back door to put the folded bath towels and cloths in .  We had a built in ironing board and also a drop down folding table along with a long bar tohang clothes on.  Was the best we have evver had.  Other homes had this also and one down the street also had the Frigidaire Skinny Mini in a closet in the kitchen to do that laundry in.  This house also had the big wash tub it is the only one we ever had.
