Well, this really happened Thursday, but I got busy they way we all do. And I'm out of sinc with my buddy, G, because he reported a tragedy that day. So sorry. G!
I have a crippled pusator that is finally starting to tear after 3 years of trouble free use. Our friend Mark Michaels sent me two Energy Rings, aka the big bottom fins. As it turns out, what he sent are really the bottom stage of the jetcone rockets, which are smaller in circumference and taller in height. They've been sitting in the garage all winter, but just before I put the 62 to sleep I tired the new ring, and it did not seat properly and seemed to skip or miss a beat during the test. So i left it. Then when the weather became spectacular Thursday, I did it over. This time it seated and settled perfectly. It's neat to see the beatiful Frigidaire tub screws now partially exposed and the higher rise of the ring.
I tried a load--two 2X6 huge thick bath towels, a terry robe, a t-shirt, 2 pair socks, 3 face towels, 2 hand towels--and the turnover was terrific, but I got greedy and added a thinner cotton robe, and she slowed a bit. The clothes on top wait for a second before they plunge, exactly the way I remember our 66 rollermatic working the load.
A good friend told me they may not work. I told him he could have the extra one if they did. They are very heavy and stiff and seem indestructible, much thicker, harder rubber than the older version. What a nice big Easter egg for that guy who gave me a bellows one day.
I only have the pic of the alien. Please wait for my new camera. I just opened the door at the end of the kitchen to the garage and heard that heavenly "NOT-KERPLUNK" sound the Multi makes after the minute of rest after the DRY phase. It's the clutch going back to the low speed spin position--or so i think;-> Perfect timing; it's going to be a good night. A Big Happy Easter and Passover to all the wonderful people of our club.
