Hi!

So to those who have been along for the journey in the shoppers square thread may know that there was a 3226 for sale in Adelaide and I had planned to get it.

It’s finally arrived today!

Upon first testing on spin the bearings were all ok! They do make a bit of noise probably due to not being used for a while. The pump was seized as well and upon disassembly had been locked up due to corrosion. Have resolved that and now spins but would most likely leak a bit. The drain pipe/sump has split on the flexible part near the drum so testing would be on hold until that’s fixed. The drum also might be sitting in an incorrect position possibly.

Meantime here’s photos:IMG_3309.jpeg

Sump fix.

I pulled what was left of the sump out and the inside is crumbling quite a bit. I have a plan on what to do with it/make a new one.

I pulled a sump off a Hoover Zodiac washing machine and test fit it on the tub of the machine and believe it or not it actually fit. I think I could use that and cut off the T section part of the old sump and connect it with pvc pipe and clamps. It would work well I think despite the rest of it still crumbling (not cracked all the way through). That leaves another issue though, the pressure switch. This is where I take off the sump of my Electra that has a catchment area made of plastic held on to the sump by a clamp. I could cut a hole in that then add a fitting to connect the pressure line to.

Also on a side note I’m curious to know if the stainless front of the outer drum and the stainless door on this was an Australian exclusive.

Here is a photo, the rubber bit poking out is where the catchment area is on the Electra. IMG_3320.jpeg
