Hi, first post here, we were fortunate to be given one of the above machines.
It does work but the belt that goes over the pump wheel (looks like a kind of cover?!) is worn and so the pump does't work.

Does anyone know where we would be able to get a replacement please?

Thanks in advance.

Hi there,

You have received a lovely machine there! I own the wringerless model 3102E!

Simple to fix too you'll be glad to know. These are still available as spares and is most likely the first thing to replaces when you get these.

Click the link below!

I've attached a pic of my machine, James.

Thanks! Now we know what to get I will get one ordered.

It is a nice machine, poor condition though, once we get this bit fixed we will see what else it needs.

It does work though, a little smelly with it's first use! It was being offered on the local freecycle site and we got it to do my husbands overalls in that he uses when he is on the footplate of a steam engine, to get out the worst of the dirt before using my new machine, seemed to do the job really well so we are very pleased indeed :D

It also brought back lots of memories!

I will take a photo of ours later and post it.

Hi again,

I'm sure with a little bit of cleaning it will look better if not as good as mine. If it smelled a little during operation, maybe there is dust inside the motor, a run over with the vacuum cleaner will cure it. Are you planning to keep it as a vintage collection piece or just a spare washer for work clothes?

James.

Hi,

Well we got it as a spare washer but having found this site I am now quite interested in all the old machines. I didn't realise there was so many around still, if we had more storage I would love to get some others.

Hi,

Well you can have a vintage washer but still use it, daily or occasionally. I wash towels in mine. Make sure to give it good rinse out after washing steam engine overalls though, wouldn't want any sooty deposits on the next load do we!

James.
