Did a video today of the Hotpoint 1469 twin tub with the early 1970s English Electric Liberator Agitator in.

Oh my Lord in Scottish "Braveheart " Heaven

You've got to be kidding me..... How we love our top-loading automatics, but Sweet jesus those UK Scotch-Irish TT"S . I'm speechless!! A circle-jet spray rinse in a twin tub which we've only seen in a 1-18 Frigidaire. And all that sink rinse-drain action--over the top!!!!!!!!!!!!

Chestermike will be banging your door down to see this masterpiece. And that red fabulous Hotpoint agitator, same one in Robert's current thread--how friggin' cool is that. No splashing on top but volcanic underneath. Total elegance!

Mark, you just made an amazing Sunday spectacular. THANK YOU

Here's my current favorite baby for you: a Frigidaire suds=return. REMEMBER: TT's invented the suds-return.

Great vid Mark.

A great machine - on a personal basis, I much prefer the silver facia of the 1960s, 70s and early/mid 80s machines over the later brown facia.

Nothing like a bit of silver/chrome for a bit of class!

Wonderful machine and a true Liberator.

Cheers
Paul

Hey Mark

Great to see that machine in action - it is amazing how different the EE straight vane agitator is to the Hotpoint Spiraclean. I didn't realise that the twintub filter-clean tray came with the snap-on guard.

Do you still have the English Electric Liberator too? That's a real gem to have...is it functional?

Good to see you about - hope all is well!

David :-)

Hi Mickey

Thanks very much for your comments. I wanted to say in regards to your other post that your machines look great and wow what a location! What a place to live..fabulous!!

Hey Paul.

Like you I much prefer the silver fascias also. They look so much better. I don't mind the 14890 also as at least that has silver knobs. Also the brown on that model is a much nicer brown (if there is such a thing) than the later colour they used...yuk!

Hi David!

Well the filter tray is off the 1509. The 1469 I don't think came with the guard. I like the guard though so swapped them around so I could use it on the 1469 for a while.
The English Electric Liberator Twin Tub belongs to a friend and I just borrowed the agitator so I could have a change from the normal spiraclean. The EE requires some work to the spinner which will be sorted soon hopefully.

Thanks, Mark

Just seeing the sink and drain action is worth the price of admission! Wish there was a way to change the thread title. Think many members skip a TT thread, but if the thread says movie, flix, or video, almost every one watches. Wish I could tell them they're missing a circle jerk--excuse me--circle jet spin spray. Great flick! Better, wish I could insert flick or video into your thread caption.
