A luck find quite by accident on ebay this last week, I came across some vintage Hotpoint service manuals and just had to have them.

Not sure exactly which one......

but my Gran had one of these series of machines. Think it was 800rpm. The facia panel looked very similar to that on the front cover on the Service Manual, although some of her buttons were electronic-style buttons that only pressed in about 1mm.

I know the final two (Power & Door Release) were regular buttons, the door release one being bigger than the power one, but i think one of the other banks of buttons was also regular (not electronic).

Unfortunately my memory of the machine is abit sketchy as it did have alot of buttons & lights & i didn't see it much. She had it from early 80s till around 1996 when the electronics died. I specificly remember that its electronic display was as simple as they come, saying r1, r2 & r3 (lower case r as it couldn't display upper case R's) for Rinse 1, 2 & 3 respectively.

The panel said Microtronic L.E, which i presume is Low Energy. Dunno if this rules out certain models or whether all Microtronics were L.E models?! It certainly ran alot smoother than my Mums 95450, though my Mums did alot more work to be fair!

Doh....

Just looked again at the front of the Service Manual. As it was a white L.E i'm guessing it must've been a 18871 or 18873, depending on where Gran & Gramp bought it.

Liam.
