Hello all! Just turned up a 9414 supermatic, the one with the spin rinse that everyone seems to want. First time I have ever used a non-automatic! Does anyone have a user manual and/or a service manual for the machine? When the heat control knob is not 'off' it stops the agitator dead. Havent had a proper look yet but otherwise it worked fine with a hot fill.

If you want the washer to heat the wash water select the temp and then turn the wash dial to the required time when it has reached the temp you selected the heat switch returns to off and the wash starts.
You may want to get some vial in it too and get rid of the limescale around the wash tub. Some one may have a user manual I know I don't and I have the exact model I use when the mood takes me.
When you want to rinse spin return the suds and turn on the rinse water and let it rinse until the water runs clear, personally when I do my wash in it I empty the wash tub refill with warm water and fabric softener and rinse everything in that which ensures no soap gets left in the clothes after a good spin they do not take long to dry lovely machines just very low down...

Online User Manual

Hi,

Indesit have an online copy of the Hotpoint Supermatic twin tub user manual. You can download this and print it off free of charge too! Although it says model 9410 on the cover your model is exactly the same. The controls never really changed on the Hotpoint twin tubs for most of their production and the wash action is supposed to stop when the heater is on so as to avoid overloading the electrics (3kw heater to heat the water quickly).

Happy washing!

James
