Hello! This raggedy machine needs your help! The timer has packed in, it's an AKO 514224... I've ordered the last remaining one secondhand on ebay, it's arrived smashed to bits. There's a company in the northwest listing one with no guarantee for £25 and a new one for £60 neither seems very palatable. Anyone have any great ideas, or something in their own stash? I'm told this is a rather curious spec/low build machine. Thoughts? :)

Update

UPDATE - managed to repair smashed up timer and fitted. Symptoms still the same. Either I have two timers with the same fault, or.... Another issue.

Please correct me if I'm at all wrong here:
Power to all solenoids when knob pulled out at start of cycle, but no fill (no valves operate)
Common neutral has low resistance back to the timer.
Neutral from timer to mains plug - low resistance.
Neutral across timer with knob pulled out - over 1000ohms.
Level switch appears to be working fine, all other aspects of the machine work when selected on dial ie motor, pump and dryer function.
Have I missed something?

No Fill - do you mean no solenoid energizes, or no water flows?

Check for voltage on the two terminals of each solenoid valve during fill - see of you have 240V across the two terminals. (NOT 240V from one terminal back to a common neutral elsewhere.)
If you have 240V across the terminals, but no valve opens, then its faulty valve, though it would be mighty unusual for all valves to fail at once.
If you have 240V (active)to one side of the valves but not 240V across the two terminals, then your neutral is open circuit somewhere - maybe door lock? Broken wire? Mouse damage to a wire?

BUT check the easy stuff first - have you just got a blocked inlet strainer? The water inlet connections each have a fine plastic screen that blocks up over time, and the hoses may each have another strainer where it connects to the tap. Blocked strainer = no flow.

The solenoids - while powered, are not actually moving due to no neutral path.
No issues with water supply, strainers etc. I know why, detailed above, I just can't believe both timers have failed in exactly the same way and I was hoping someone might have a ray of sunshine for me :(

I’m not sure what model this is but having a very quick look at the service info I have, you might want to check both the supressor and the 130.deg C high heat thermostat as these are in line with the solenoids. Hope this helps
