Hotpoint Combination Fridge/Freezer in St. Paul

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support AutomaticWasher.org:

Both look to be in great shape. Another little old lady's kitchen that was always kept sparkling, and clearly she saw no need to replace these two appliances that worked perfectly.

There are two too bads here. 1) The fridge is in MN and 2) The handles are on the wrong side for placement where I want to put mine when I find one.

I hope the fridge went to a good home. You could pay 10 times more for a new fridge that wouldn't last 1/10th as many years as that Hotpoint.

That's Another....

....Ozzie and Harriet fridge. As the show's sponsor, Hotpoint changed out the appliances very frequently; the kitchen stayed the same for many years, but Harriet always had the latest and greatest Hotpoints. The company also gifted the Nelsons with appliances for their real houses, though not nearly as often as they changed the appliances on the show. The Nelsons had two houses - the Camino Palmero house you see in the opening credits of the show, and a beach house. The beach house was sold as a teardown a few years ago; when it was sold, Harriet's 1955 or 1956 40-inch range in stainless was still in it.

Hotpoint even continued supplying appliances for the set after they dropped sponsorship; I have 1958 and 1959 episodes where Kodak is the sponsor, but new Hotpoints still reign in Harriet's kitchen.
