Hotpoint 1824...

I actually quite like this dinky machine as much as the 1848 now... I hope I find either one or the other over here. Freecycle do your thing! *crosses everything* If I found a 1824 and already had a 1701 I would keep the white/cream door and replace the one on the 1701 with a white one to match! "Oh James how could you!" The Superbuy 1700 etc. would be nice to but they lack purple doors? Does anybody have a picture of the whole first Superbuy range? They are really rare?

Hi James.

The first Superbuy range are rather elusive.

A photo of the 1700 dryer is earlier in the thread and its compact stablemate, I attach below, in the form of the 1731 Super Dryer.

As for the 1827 Super Electronic, unless anyone has one, a photograph has yet to surface. I do own a powder drawer facia off one though - its as per the normal liberator style, was once white but has yellowed and bears the words 'Super Electronic' in italics.

Hey Paul
I will be note writing- thats it but with only the cold valve.
So its possibly a 1823 or if not its def a Zanussi or Electra or Electrolux variant- id love to see a GL2 again as my Auntie had one (paired with a Creda 275).
Defiantly worth saving!!!

Yellow plastic...

Hi Paul,

I think I heard somewhere that rainwater can work magic on yellowed plastics. Might be something to do with the minerals in it?

It's doesn't look like I'm getting anything now but it's ok. There's nothing that he had that I couldn't find locally. I guess it's one of those finds that never make their way to you. I'm only 16 so I can find anything I can dream of yet.

Evening all, not much to say other than have a great weekend.

As you can see the computer is working this evening, Norton 360 says it has found threats and fixed them, You dirty little slut of a computer, but it's running a bit slow, maybe I need a new one.

You would have thought Hotpoint would have made a few of the 1840’s

Appeared to have got very close to the production stage. I'd say only a handful of prototypes existed and of course got lost after the clearout.

Lee try leaving your PC overnight to defragment, same to you Paul. It works wonders. Also try disc clean up. Both accessible from the control panel.

Up-date
On Thursday I went to Ledbury and delivered the panels to the powder coaters, so they are now in there safe hands, all the staff seemed friendly people. So I have just got to Waite for the call to go and collect some time next week or the week after.

a bit of a difference...

As you may know I am very fond of the liberator especialy the c's. When I get 5 minuetes I tend to make little card washers. I have 3-4 shoeboxes full of them. This time I have made a liberator washer and dryer but the card colours are a wee bit different.

While I’m waiting for the panels to come back from the powder coaters I have spent some time treating the rust on the lip of the outer tub.

I’m on a few days holiday, and have had enough nagging from her-indoors “the lawn needs mowing; you could vacuum the house, are you going to do anything” so I did some thing very useful, was glad to have some piece and quite out in the workshop.

Next a rubdown and a treatment of rust remover.

Poor photo, but this stuff is great, the rust turns blue.

Then a quick clean up.

Dried and then the enamel repair treatment applied, her-indoors may find she is a makeup brush missing, it was just the right size for the job, ho well at least the nagging will be for something now.

The enamel is black, but you wont be able to see it as it is covered by the boor boot, I have coated the entire lip all the way round to help prevent any further decay.

That it for now, I’m hoping the panels are ready some time next week.
