Hotpoint Potwasher Dishwasher Wash Arm rust

I have this 20 year old Hotpoint dishwasher manufactured my GE i think. Look at the spray arm, its FULL of rust. How can i clean the rust off?

That looks like iron staining from the water supply. It's also in the tub. The wash arm is nominally stainless steel. Try wiping the surfaces with CLR and I'll bet the stains go away. The other approach is running it through a cycle with no dishes or detergent and when it gets to the wash portion dump in about a half cup of Fruit Fresh (citric acid) sold with the canning & freezing supplies.

to:Tomturbomatic, thank you, i will try it tomarow. i am running a cycle right now in it with a rust remover and its rinsing. i need to run about 10 more cycles with the rust remover and it will be tottaly white.
