Found this site whilst searching the Internet for something else. It has an interesting take on the "domestic goddess" with nice vintage appliance shots.

Launderess (who for the record wears old jeans and sweat shirts to house clean. With either petal pushers or sneakers, but never Jimmy Choo's).

If she is going out to hang the laundry on the line she will have the best airated lawn where her clothes lines are.

What is funny is watching the black & white sit-com, like "Ozzie and Harriet" or "Leave it to Beaver", "The Patty Duke SHow" How the mom's all were dressed to kill even when just staying home. I was in grade school in the mid 60's and high school in the 70's. I never saw my mom or firnds mom's dress like that to clean. But I guess you could say that wearing the heels to clean was just as bad as my generation wearing the Pee Wee Herman "Tequilla" heels all day in Cathlolic High School to impress the girls. I don't think I could do it now, my feet would hurt too much. Back then I saw a few people fall off teh curd trying to walk in those things and sprain thier ankles. We people do for looks. LOL
