Does anyone know? Was this confined to the "Halo from Hell" generation, or was yellow continued into the next, final generation of centre-dial machines?

Thanks! Oh, and what did Maytag call its yellow colour? Thanks again.

Greg!

Whaddya tryin' to do- drive me to tears, LOL?

An 906 pair in Sunshine Yellow (thanks, Maytagmike!) would be a dream pair indeed. Or turquoise, for that matter.

Now I'm gonna be up all night. ;-)

According to the 1966 Maytag brochure RickR downloaded last

You had a choice of Spanish Avacodo, Cordoba Copper and Castillian Yellow. For this reason I surmise 2 things.
1. Maytag must have only offerd turqouise for a short time in 1966. 2. Maytag more than likely offered Castillian Yellow until 1968 (Ge introduced the color harvest in 1967 and that color was never called harvest gold by GE). PAT COFFEY

GE's Harvest", by default, became Harvest Gold because, like all the other colors of that era, it was "edged" and I imagine salesmen didn't note the distinction. Appliance manufacturers must have given in to the reality that customers might not necessarily buy all their machines from one brand and thus it was better to coordinate colors with other brands for replacement sales, etc. In the late seventies GE replaced their "Harvest" with "Harvest Wheat" which was NOT edged and was looking ahead to the set of colors that would edge out "Coppertone" and the ill-conceived "Avocado". In my opinion, GE should have stayed with its color set of the late fifties. But, again, no one ever listens to me.

Hmmm...

"You had a choice of Spanish Avacodo, Cordoba Copper and Castillian Yellow."

Shouldn't that be Cathtillian Yellow?

If we have any Spanish members, they'll know what I mean, LOL.

Maytag still offered harvest gold in the 10 series Bobby

A neighbor of mine across the street bought one that color in 1982 I believe it was a DE 310 and the neighbor next door to her got the same dryer at the same time but hers was a white DG310 (menaing it was gas fired). PAT COFFEY

Pat, I stand corrected. It seems to my memory that harvest gold was not listed in the 10 series catalogue, but I am getting more flakey every day. I know for a fact that the 12 series did not offer gold.

Harvest, Schmarvest...

Harvest and yellow are definitely two different things, so far as I'm concerned.

For me, yellow is sunny, fun to look at, bright and cheerful. Harvest is not nearly so attractive, in my book.
