From the looks of the knobs, I would guess it is a late 60's-early 70's model. If it has a pilot light oven, chances are it is on the newer side.
I'm thinking it's somewhat older, probably 1951-1958 or so, judging by the rounded corners. Of course, maybe Vesta didn't restyle their products when most other brands did.

Overpriced I absolutely agree. We were just wondering how old the stove was and then found one on craigslist. So I thought that would be perfect to use as an example. It does have a pilot light for the burners. He is unsure about the oven part. Would that make a difference? He won't be back home to look for a few days.

Prety much all of the gas stoves converted to a standing pilot in the oven by the late 60's. One that had to be lighted through a little hole in the oven bottom basically went away on even the most basic stoves like this one. Although automatic oven lighting was always pretty much standard on the nice ones like O'Keefe and Merrit, Wedgewood and most of the top of the line models. Guess housewifes just got too scared lighting them manually and burning their eyebrows when it puffed back on them and probably the government decided it was a safety issue.
