Part of a collection of photos that my father insisted I take so that they would be preserved - by his best estimate, this would have been taken in 1986 or 1987 and was part of a portfolio of photos of furniture, electronics, etc that he took for his insurer at the time.   Sorry for the scan size - I don't have any photo management software alas.

I was not living at home at the time - I was most likely somewhere in beautiful downtown Dorval in those days (with my first set of vintage smalls, natch).

Say, maybe we can make a game out of this - try and name the brands of the various smalls!  I'll be disappearing down to Ogden later today so I'll jump in again sometime on Monday.

Pictures for the insurances!

At first, I thought you were involved in that organized display of small appliances!

Retro kitchen

It is 70's, and nicer than the 80's white formica with the oak edges.
Phil R., is that Carol Brady in the sudsdom?
Is it you who also has the avatar of Hyacinth Bucke't? Love it as well, but I was just a bit surprised you posted the pic of Divine from Pink Flamingos.
Although canned peas have the same effect on me.
I still can not believe Waters got Milstead to do it.
The again, they were out to shock the sisters who had monthly school assemblies to tell them which films were off limits by the church, which only made them want to see them even more so. Namely Russ Meyer films.

Fun!

Think I see:

Sunbeam Mixmaster
Osterizer Blender
GE Food Processor?
GE or Black & Decker Coffee Maker (under cupboard version)

Maybe? Some?

Looking at that kitchen brings back

a horrible memory - Back in 1982 when my parents divorced, I was 10. Now, for 2 months we lived partly with my father and partly with my mother, who lived with her divorced best friend and her children. After those 2 mos, we stayed mostly with my grandparents and our father (but he was away because he worked a lot) Their kitchen reminds me a lot of the one in that pic, only this kitchen was NASTY. The floor was carpeted and there was something wrong with all of the appliances. The floor had a greasy feel as did everything there...I remember there was something wrong with EVERYTHING in that kitchen, at least partly.....One burner didn't work, one element didn't work in the oven, the dishwasher worked but you had to stop it automatically or something like that, I can't remember. All the appliances were those 70s green GE's...I can't look at a 70s kitchen and not think ugly/nasty. My grandma's house was the opposite, very clean, but still ugly to me..

Divine!!!

whose real name was Glen Milstead, and John Waters, & I all went to the same Jr and High School in Towson MD... they were 2 yrs ahead of me. Pink Flamingos (one of my all time faves) was filmed mostly on my friend Bruce's farm in Manchester MD!
John Waters is THE nicest guy ever!

And now, back to Paul's kitchen.....

Mike,

Hyacinth Bucket isn't my avatar, it's Launderess.

The woman in my avatar is Barbara Harris with a set of 1967 Frigidaire Custom Deluxe machines in Freaky Friday. That's the first Frigidaire set I have seen when I was a kid!

I have the same set in white.

Without a magnifying glass

I can see a Braun stick blender. Possibly a Braun coffee mill. A GE handmixer ?  and GE food processor already mentioned and the Sunbeam stand mixer .  Could be a GE electric knife?  The aforementioned GE/ B&D coffee maker..

I'll just take a stab at the sandwich toaster,, a Toastess?  No clue on the electric kettle.. not at GE or Sunbeam I don't think..  Could also be a Toastess or Proctor Silex or Samson Dominion.

Wow you guys are good!  Full marks, given that the picture was pretty small...

So, here's what was on the counter back in 1986 or so (picture 1 from left to right):

- GE Toast'n'Broil Toaster oven (early 70s)

- McGraw Edison egg cooker

- Braun burr coffee grinder (still have it!)

- Osterizer Cycla-trol 8 blender

- GE FP1 food processor (I stole the Cuisinart when I moved out... LOL)

- Sunbeam MM300 mixmaster (still have that, too)

- GE non-automatic kettle (the spare one)

- Toastess waffle iron/grill (Well spotted, Pete & Rick!!)

On the cupboard:

- GE electric knife

- GE hand mixer

- Braun stick blender

I still have all of them, too.

On the second picture:

- Russell Hobbs kettle (good on you, Al & Rick!)

- GE Spacemaker Coffeemaker (which I bought at Lechmere's in Boston in 1984 when my father ran the Marathon - oh, and I still have it...)

- Beaumark 'Space Saver' microwave oven and range hood (a Hotpoint-made rebadge)

I also noticed that on these photos the half-melted Tap-A-Line multiple outlet strips had been removed.  Or melted completely... LOL

stupid me didn't click on the "view full size" . I always forget that's there.

I never realized Russell Hobbs appliances were sold here at that time. I thought it was just in the last 10 years or so.
