Recently I outed myself to a friend about my interest in older appliances. Upon hearing this she laughed...and laughed...for a solid minute, thinking it was so absurd. I just smiled and waited for her to regain her composure. Then I explained this website to her and told her to check it out for herself.
Well, wouldn't ya know! I got a "180" email from her a few days later. She's snooped all over the website and find us to be a "fascinating sub-culture"! She has an old dryer that's developing some problems (she doesn't even know what brand...c'mon doesn't everyone know who made their appliances?!) She and her husband were just going to junk it. Now there interested in saving it.
So yay I've converted someone! I will expect my toaster oven (1970's Proctor-Silex please) to be delivered shortly, thank you
