For some time now, Roger and I have been intrigued by the
new center dial Whirltags. I know they are just direct drive
Whirlpools but we were still fascinated by them.
I had a credit at Lowes so this past Friday, I went and ordered
a Whirltag. Here are some pictures.

Love it!

Ross, please keep us abreast of your likes/dislikes with this machine. This is probably the TL I'd be most likely to buy at this point, since I'm not as infatuated with the new FLs as I thought I'd be, after using my friend's.

Hope it's all you want it to be!

Ross that is a very nice machine, glad that Roger was able to by-pass that lid switch. Have fun using it and keep us posted as to how you like it.

Nice new machine! Is the fast agitation 160 (I think) as in WP and KM or 120 as in KitchenAid? I don't recall if the machine has a WP-sized agitator or a KA-sized one.

As much as I hate to see all of top-loaderdom fall to a single design, this Maytag is certainly of higher quality than the last pre-takeover 'Tags were. Sad, but true.

Interesting: They've colored the inside of the softener dispenser blue to camouflage
softener build-up.

One of the these days, I plan on buying a video camera if I can find one that is not too complicated. I finally figured out the digital camera.
Frigilux-the machine has fast agitation just like a Whirlpool.
A few minutes before then end of the wash cycle, the agitation
does slow down.
Oxydolfan1-When asked, I have always recommended Whirlpool/Kenmore toploaders to people. I am happy with
the Whirltag but I also like the fridgemore. We lifted up the top lid and was able to adjust the water level control to permit more water into the machine. It works great is so quiet, you cannot even tell if it is running.

Hi Greg. I did not like the look of the stainless steel tub with all the seams, even those the white porcelain tub has seams, at least you cannot see them and have the feeling of a
"solid" tub.

Congrats on the new Whirltag!

Hi Ross,

I'm glad someone has purchased one of the new Whirltags (or Maypools as I call them) and hope this new machine will bring you lots of years of service! Thanks for the new pictures as well!

Take Care,

Mike

Could you post a close up of the control panel? I see the TV commercial lied about the Stainless Steel tub.
