That fruitcake looks wonderful! If I have the time, I'd love to try Lil's recipe! My mom and grandma always made fruitcake the weekend after Thanksgiving. After they cooled - one recipe made for loaf-sized cakes - they would soak cheesecloth in rum or brandy and then wrap it around the cakes. They would get covered in wax paper and foil, put into a metal tin, and then inside the front hall closet where it was always cold. They would sit there until Christmas Eve and then out they came. Sliced and served with piping hot coffee. Oh, so good!
