Hi everyone! Hope you’re doing as good as I am today. I went to buy something on marketplace today, and the house that it was in had a gorgeous early 60’s roper double wall oven in coppertone, along with a vintage NuTone range hood. The couple told me that they recently sold the home to a renovation company, and have agreed to get me their contact information so that I can inquire about the machines, as well as some beautiful woodgrain paneling in the basement (that will hopefully become the new front panels for my Sub Zero 550). There are also a couple of vintage ceiling fans that I’d like to get as well. I’ll let you know once I get more details.

The parents'/mom's current house was built in the early 1970s, originally had this Roper double wall oven and matching cooktop.  The Kenmore range hood dates to the mid 1970s, was moved over from our previous (1964) house when they bought this house in 1983.  The photos are from 2001.  The wall oven and cooktop were changed in 2005.  The range hood was still there until Nov 2024 when the kitchen was remodeled in preparation for my sister and SIL moving in with mom coming at end of this month.  The oven and cooktop were changed again and the hood to an OTR microwave (ick! although it is vented).

Late 60s early 70s roper double electric wall oven

This is two ovens, the lower oven may not even have a broiler however, the broiler is in the top oven like most electric ovens.

Roper made these a lot were sold under the Kenmore name. It’s not much of an oven. You’d be far better off with a GE if you’re looking for quality and performance, they tended to have a lot of hinge problems. They didn’t bake very evenly especially that bottom oven. A lot of cheap aluminum trim that tended to get destroyed with oven cleaner. They also had a lot of wiring problems with their terminals and they’re fairly poorly insulated, but it is neat looking.
