Hello! I have a 1947 Electric Frigidaire range model number RJ 70. We purchased it about 2 months ago and used it for 6 weeks with no problems. I had turned both burners off that I was using and one of the ovens, so only one oven was on. I went in the other room and heard a very load noise and then went in the kitchen. The breaker had flipped on the oven and there were soot marks from behind where the burner knobs are located. I turned on the breaker and had my husband in the kitchen and he saw sparks from behind the knobs and we heard the load noise again. I have tried to get into the area to see what the problem is, but the stove top needs to be removed and it looks like in order to do that, you also need to remove the sides of the stove, which is what appears to be holding the stove up. Does anyone have a manual or know anything about this stove? or do they know of anyone in my area who could help. I am in the southern part of Johnson county Kansas about 40 minutes from Kansas city. I do have lots of pictures if that would help. It is a very nice stove and I would love to be able to use it.
Thanks so much,
Kathy King
