My new to me KA Portable is here.. I posted in the other forum (maybe here is better) but im on my second load and im still mopping up suds from the unit.. Its not water, its soap.. When i got it home there was this sticky, ickky brown goop inside and i assume its rotten rinseaid but not sure.. Its gross what ever it is and it has caused SO MANY SUDS.. Its nuts..I've run 1/2 gallon of white vinager through it, tried some bleach and a dishwasher tablet and STILL SUDS...This goop was not there when i bought it or saw it on craigslist (see last pic)

Can any one tell me how to get rid of it? Im running a 1/2 gal of apple cider through it now.. Also could it be it has a door seal leak? It comes out all across the bottom of the door across the top of the kick panel...

I used de-foamer for pools and spas to knock down suds when I had trouble with a couple of vintage dishwashers.  In one infamous case, a seriously ditzy in-law had used regular dish soap to pre-wash the dishes and didn't rinse them well enough, if at all.  It was a mess.  I don't remember what happened the other time, but it was her fault then, too.

I doubt this thing has seen much mileage.... Came from an estate sale.. But whatever is inside it, is a mess...

Thought it was cleared up.. I was WRONG... Still there.. Going on the hunt for defoamer and dishwasher cleaner tomorrow... Ickk

I also noticed the racks don't feel smooth..They have a bit of a rough feel, esp on the top rack..

Check your other thread.  Cooking oil or fabric softener will also knock down suds.

You'll have to resolve the suds issue before running the machine with dishwasher cleaner.  If you can't find an actual dishwasher cleaner, the regular Lemi Shine glassware stuff will probably get the job done.

I was going to suggest fabric softener but Ralph beat me to it!  The bottom of the door is the air vent where steam escapes during the dry cycle so it wouldn't be sealed tight there anyway.  Mine foamed out the bottom once too and that was the last time I used any modern tablet in it and went back to old school chlorine based detergents.
