Identifying a Childhood Machine... CONTINUED!

As some of you may remember, last year I made a post about a long lost Kenmore that we had when I was a kid. I haven't stopped looking and today on CL I found something VERY similar, and I wanted to post some pics to give a better idea of the washer that I was looking for and what model and year it might be.

The model shown is not the exact year, but I believe is to be a similar model. The one that we owned had a different color control panel, like a cast aluminum/chrome grid pattern with a centered rectangle in the middle with "Sears Kenmore" engraved. I don't remember it having a lint filter, but it could have been missing and it had a slider water level switch along the lower edge of the control panel.

I hope maybe this photo gives a better direction here as my previous post may have seemed vague.

Control Panel Color

This machine has a white control panel, whereas ours was a darker gray/aluminum patterned style with the "KENMORE" badge centered in the empty area.

This is the exact control panel shape from the rear. The hoses are the same as well. I think I'm close to finding the machine (I hope!)

The machine in the photos is most likely a '62 - '65 model. The 24-inch washers of the 60s and 70s were often styling throw-backs that didn't have current 29-inch twins. That changed in the mid-70s, but based on your description, I am thinking early to mid 60s for your machine, but let me ask you a couple questions:

If your machine had a roto-swirl, was it a 29-inch model?

Was the agitator the 'fat' original Roto-Swirl or did it have the narrower, Super-Roto Swirl with the many ridges on it?

If it didn't have a manual lint filter, could it have had a self-cleaner? I am thinking so because of the slider water level switch.

Did it have the lid handle as shown in your pic, or the larger, texturized chrome handle?

Having a slider water level switch, was it an alphabet washer?

Did it have a lighted console or back-lit knobs?

Were there any pastel colors on the panel?

Your answers to these questions will help me try to pinpoint the model.

It seems like the machine was wider than this one. The roto-swirl has the longer, raised lines that lead up to the top. The agi was pretty stratight and cylindrical until it gets down close to the bottom. The machine had an actual handle, it was texturized and shiny, it was more of a handle though. I'm unsure of the filter setup, but I know it had the water level slider with the reset at the end. When I was little I played with that switch and it overflowed. I don't remember any pastel colors or alphabet, the dials I don't think were lit, at least they didn't light anymore if they were. No flourescent light.
