Maytag pitman transmission made after 1965 require 34 ounces of oil.

Is it the same oil used in the orbital transmission or did they use a lighter oil? What was the weight in terms of viscosity?

In my experience I’ve never been able to get 34oz in a Pittman transmission. 32 seems like the magic amount

Don't forget that half an ounce is needed for the brake, and some will also be used wetting the shafts prior to assembly. If you have the ability to fill those jugs to 34 ounces, I think that would be for the best...
