Hi everyone!

It's been a quite a while since I last posted anything... seems like a year or two. But I've been reading along the whole time.

I'm back now and have just picked up my first solid tub machine. Yippee!!! The model number is gone off it, but based on what I've researched in my Frigidaire microfiche, it's a Frigidaire Model WAL. I found it on the Nashville Craigslist being sold along with a newer model GE dryer. Go figure... LOL!

Anyway, it's now at its new home. The mechanism, tub and jetcone are in great shape, but the cabinet needs work. And the timer dial is all but rubbed off.

Would anyone have a spare timer dial (I know, I'm asking for a miracle here.) just laying around collecting dust you'd like to part with?

Thanks for the help!
Dennis

Jet cone agitator

I don't remember seeing any of the solid tub Jet-Action washers having the Jet-Cone agitators. The ones I saw had the Deep Action agitator The Jet-Action 1-18s had the Jet-Cone agitator. The Deep-Action agitators looked like they were designed by NASA and looked like a space capsul. They had 4 holes evenly distributed to perform the lint away wash and rinse. The Jet-Cones were narrower and taller. No perforations to force out the lint. There was the recirculating lint filter in the back of the upper trim ring and the Jet Circle Spray System to fill. The 1-18s had a huge perforated tub not solid.

chuck, a lot of people, including myself, called the deep action agitator found on machines with the WCI65 through the end of the solid tub series, jet cone agitators. They look like cones plain and simple. To me there all basically the same, the 1-18s are just taller with lots more "sections".

In fact, friends of my family (who I saw while in Houston last weeek) had the pulsator replaced in their WI59 to a Jetcone (as they called it) in early 1966 to alleviate some of the tangling.

YOU MIGHT TRY

mark in pa. as he has a lot of frigidaire parts. i just bought a ton off of him myself! and have more coming. but i have no extra timer dials. he might.

i have 6 solid tub frigidaires and they all have this agitator pictured here. i call it a "jet cone" but maybe that's not the proper term. it is indeed "nasa" inspired!

mark's e mail is [email protected]

train guy in this site may have one too.

I've always called them a Jetcone too

Thanks for the help guys. I've always called them Jetcones, for the same reasons. They are blue, they are shaped like an Apollo space capsule and they have 4 holes in the top where jets of water come out when it goes up and down. Thus, the reason why I call them jetcones. I'll say this, nothing, including my 1-18 has a more splashy wash than this one. LOL!
