Look what turned up on the shelves of VV today and only $5.99. No use for it whatsoever. Austin, if you want it I'll send it on..but I'm guessing the cost of shipping is going to make it uneconomical. You'll probaby have as good a luck in the thrift stores there. It does cool, 4000 BTU model, the side accordian panels are missing and the power cord has "extended" with electrical tape add on. The front panel is a light green, only one control knob, so its either on or off. The foam prefilter literaly disintegrated into powder when I removed the front cover..hahahaha

Hi Pete,

I won the Carry-Cool on eBay that you posted recently and it should be en route to the house. It's a 5000 BTU model with 2 knobs. Didn't cost much to ship (seller might be in for a shock since it was a fixed charge)--I figured a 50 lb. A/C unit would definitely cost more than $20!

Being an older model, it would look good sitting next to the Marvelaire all cleaned up! You should keep it...even if there's no window to put it in! These appear to be getting harder and harder to find--at least for me anyways!

I don't think I'll keep it not being able to use it. All my windows are casement type windows as are pretty much all the windows these days. Although it can get hot here in the summer it's so dry that it isn't unbearable and the seasons short so most people don't even bother with a/c in the house and go for central air if the do. Window units don't sell much at all. If anything I'll get one of those roll about portables that use dryer hoses to a window in the living room.
