Hi!

Sorry to bother everybody with a thread about a washer which maybe will interest only people from Italy and has already been discussed some years ago, but pleeeeeeeeeeease!!! This is absolutely my favourite vintage washer, so: Collectors, please give me information:

I Just watched on You Tube a just posted video about my beloved Indesit K5:

please find the link here below:

http://www.youtube.com/user/faustomiele1#p/a/u/0/ZJW123OgIpY

This machine has controls in front and dispenser on the top! (exacly like my Grandma's one). Now, I'd like to know: Does it have the sud saver, too? Which are the differences between this one and the K5 shown on others videos on You Tube, with controls on the top? Isz76, Fausto Miele, Diomede, Pavone giallo, Bimatic, and all K5 Fan Club Members, I will accept all you can tell me about it in Italian, French or English ;)))
Thanks
Marco

Now that is odd! I have never ever seen that machine before! I thought the machine in this video was a K5, or were there several models with the same name?

Hi Louis!
Thank you for being the first one to reply!
i've been collecting information on this washer for 2 years on You tube and Discuss o Mat :))!
I could swear I remembered the K5 for having controls on front and product dispenser on the top (that was 35 years ago, so I guess I can be wrong, because all the others videos show K5 machines with controls on the top) but this last video proves thet I remembered it too well! But when I used to watch her wash, I remember her "walking" from right to left at spin-drains (and sometimes -er... very often... hit the sink which was on the left), so I was pretty sure she would spin counter-clockwise... but ALL videos prove it would spin clockwise.... I'm getting confused!!
Anyway, there were for sure different models, according to the information i got so far: K4 (maybe 4kg capacity, or older model??), and K5! I don't think the K5 shown on this last video had the sud saver on the top, according to the shape of the lid...
I'd like to know all (and I mean all) about this great machine of the 60's and this is why I opened (ou should I say re-open) this thread!
Take care!
Marco

Foraloysius: That Indesit was STILL named K5 But with the name Super automatic or SA for short. The machine replaced the previous K5 model SR. The reason for this was that the SR model, according to Which Report was Electrically potentially dangerous because live parts could be touched if top cover was removed.

Also the colour codec on the flex wasnt right. They also changed the drum and the speed and some more.

Ciao Marco...

Cosa vuoi che ti dica di più dei più esperti di me?

The firts one was without the sud-saver integrated tank, while the second one with top control came in two different model, with sud-saving and without and as I remember with two different looking variants (white and black fascia).

Friedrick, I remember to have heard the same as you said but honestly... in EVERY machine you could reach dangerous electric elements removing the top.

Ask for ISZ or PavoneGiallo for the pix...

GoodBye
Diomede

Thank you for the post. I'm so happy to see those videos.
In all my life I've seen only one of this machine. The one with the controls on the front. I've never seen one with the controls on the top.

I remember that I was fascinated by the fact that the tube of this washer is sealed on the front part of the housing of the washer itself. That's also why the door hase no rubber and the glass is so flat. (I'm sorry I don't know how to explain well)

For me this is one of the most beautiful and fascinating European front loaders I've ever seen.
Thank you for the post :)

Ingemar, you speak a great Italian! :)

Anyway, those old Indesit machines are fascinating, no doubt on this!

Thread resurrection !

Bonsoir, glad to see other members from France.

I may have some technical infos about these Indesit machines.

@ Statomatic

Thank you for bringing back this thread! I can't believe it was created 3 years ago! Que ça passe vite!
Meanwhile more videos have followed and I've learned many things about this machine. But may be you can help me with another thread I created about an indesit washer I'd neved heard about before and which looks like a "late K5" (it seems it has wheels and a bigger door than the K5L. )
