Hi guys,

2 questions: I got braided water hoses for the A606.

Am I suppose to use Teflon tape? (on the washer's inlet)
I don't remember using it when I installed this long ago, and there is no evidence of it. Because........
I am getting a leak when I install the cold water line. I have unscrewed it and screwed it back in numerous times making sure to get it lined up, and she's still leaking.

Also, I would like to get the hot water working again on her, but since I have had this Maytag, it has never worked. Currently I push in the hot water button to get cold water.
So when I push in the cold wash button, nada.

Hope these questions aren't too confusing, or stupid. I think I will go work on installing the RR lightbulb now, that is, if I got the right bulb. LOL

Thanks in advance for any help.

You should not need to use teflon tape or any other kind of sealant with a washer hose. The fitting will need a hose washer, however, if there's not already one in the hose you purchased. These are readily available at the garden section of any hardware store. Just don't use the vinyl kind - use the black rubber flat or o-ring type. Vinyl doesn't hold up to hot water very long, and I believe red rubber also gets hard and brittle over time.
