For the 50th anniversary of CorningWare, World Kitchen gave us CorningWare StoveTop, a revival of Pyroceram cookware in patterns ranging from Just White to the familiar Blue Cornflower.

For the 60th, well, see the link.

Blue Cornflower, yes.  Pyroceram, no.  Stoneware.  One-year warranty, void if you put it on the stove or under the broiler, i.e.: all the places the original Blue Cornflower could go.  Dumb move because people associate the Blue Cornflower with Pyroceram or even, as I found in the kitchen of a vacation rental, white cast aluminum and thus stovetop-safe.  Strange piece, that was.

Back to the present.  Only a matter of time until someone mistakes one for the other and, ka-BLAM! Lawsuit!

In all humility, your humble CorningWare junkie's suggestion of a product line called InSight (classic square CorningWare made from Visions amber vitroceramic) would have been a great way to observe the 60th.

Heard nothing after the obligatory "Thanks, we'll pass it along to the right people" email.  C'est la vie!

Visions

I bought a whole set of Visions in the mid 80's when I made a house move. It was great to look at, and fun, but boy, would stuff stick to it! Such things as cooking a little pot of corn or peas would stick, not to mention any form of meat. But they sure were pretty. I know they came out with some type of nonstick later on but I'd already given mine to Goodwill by then.

It's very sad what happened to Corning. I never had Cornflower, but I had several 'Spice of Life' dishes. My favorites, actually were the white/colored Pyrex dishes and I still have several of those. I also have a bunch of the little colored square Pyrex dishes for storing little leftovers in the icebox.

I am still using Corningware and Pyrex that my mother got as a wedding present in 1950.

On the older Corning the design hasn't faded even through all these years of automatic dishwashing. Now some of the newer stuff from the 70s and 80s, the design has faded.

Same with Correll ware, I can't give you an estimate of how many times they have gone through the machine. They are our daily use dishes so some piece or another is being washed almost daily.
