Over four years for me. I never even think of smoking now. I can hardly believe I smoked for over 35 years. Wow.

If I get around ANY kind of smoke now I taste it for days---I've become ultra-sensitized to smoke now, like an allergy!

Congratulations, Jeff. I used to smoke. Started in high school - tough kid, you know. Quit in 1990. So I have 17 years of "cigarette sobriety.

A friend of mine is Patrick Reynolds, grandson of tobacco magnate R. J. Reynolds. Patrick runs the Foundation for a Smoke-Free America. Check out the link below. He's really a terrific guy.

Congratulations, Jeff!

For what it is worth, I am very proud of you.

Keep going...one day at a time!!!!

Never appealed to me, after seeing and smelling my mother's cigarettes, and the burns in our carpet, her clothes, our cars.....

Again, if I wore a hat, it would be off to you.

I am sure Jack is breathing more easily, as well.

YAY for quitters !

The last cig I lit up was on Jan 17th. It has been 20 weeks/ 5 months.
If anyone wants to quit - I would recommend the medicine called Chantix. Doctor asked me if I wanted to quit. I told him yes, BUT only if it was going to be easy. He suggested chantix and that med turned my cravings into nothing more than thoughts. Thoughts that I could easily dismiss. Of course it is very important for the person to want to quit also.
ALL of you guys give me hope that I can continue. Hardest time I have is weekends when I get bored.
Congrats all you guys !
One thing I refuse to do though....and that is become an ANTI-smoking hater. I always was irritated by the x-smokers that would come down on smokers so hard. If someone wants to smoke - they can do it - I am not going to utter one word of disapproval.

It's been 21 years for me,

Which is odd, because I'm certain I can't be a day over 25.

Congratulations to all of us who've conquered our vices. Well, maybe not ALL our vices!

Thansk for all the good wishes, I appreciate them very much!
I never thought I'd be able to do it, and now here I am free of it for two years!
