Here are the latest additions to my household. The 1965 set and the WO65 set came from Rich Craft who met me in Chicago twice to make the switch-what an incredible friend that is!! The 1960 Multimatic set is on loan from Scott who is moving to CA, and needed a good home to store his set. Also a good friend, I assured him they would be in good hands. Just goes to show you that there are still great washers and dryers out there to be found, but more importantly, generous friends who we are all blessed to have in our lives!

Great set Don, one of my absolute favorite Frigidaire designs. I also got a washer from Rich, hes just about the best washer friend a person could have.........mine is a 1968 Rapidry w/dispensers, same as yours.......but with different colored graphics on it

I amazed at how often Frigidaire (rather radically) redesigned their consoles! The differences from 1956-65 are astounding. I'd never seen a 1960 til today's POD. Was nice to see a close-up of them at this thread.

And all very handsome machines they are, too!

Well, it's fun to see the 60 set both together with their fabulous lights on! :)

Got to use that wonderful 65 set when visiting Don last week.

Jimmy, it's fun to see your 68 picture, I didn't know they were still doing those in 68, and I've not seen them with that color background before. Were the square timer dials only done for one year (in 67?)

Hi Scott, thanks for the kind words. Actually Im not sure those ARE 1968's that I have. The timer has a date stamp on it as "1968", but it could be a replacement. Now that you mention it, I think the square dialed ones were closer to 1968. Maybe the Frigidaire experts could help us out here dating these........

Changing looks

It is amazing how much the look changed from 51-65. I love the 1965 set as it was the one my Grandma had, but I think the 60 multimatic is just beautiful. Jimmy the 60 multimatic set are more glamorous wouldn't you agree? Scott I am glad you like the pics, although I will have to learn some tips about posting pics-sooo big!

heart is going pitter pat

how wonderful.. i love my 54 set they are so much fun and the 65 set is fabu. what great luck you have. enjoy them they are worth the effort of caring for..

Agiflow, 1960 was the first year of the side opening lid on Frigidaire (like, IMO, ALL washers should have and should still have today, though sadly none but for certain Sears models do).

Anyway, aside from that I think the 1960 cabinet is pretty much identical to the 1958 and 59 ones, although those did have the flip back lids. 1961 ushered in an all new, 27" cabinet.

Never twice the same console

"I amazed at how often Frigidaire (rather radically) redesigned their consoles! The differences from 1956-65 are astounding."

Funny, I was going to mention the same thing. Seems like they didn't have the same console twice between 1955-65. and I mean they were RADICALLY different, not just "facelifts"
