I have a Model 140 Jenn Air Grill-Range with Self Cleaning Radiant Bake and Convection Oven installed in 1986. I have not used the Convection Oven as every time I turn it on there this rattle like the fan or some part of the fan is hitting something. Has anyone else run into this? Was it difficult to correct?

Make sure the source of the rattle isn't the oven racks or other removable components on the range.  We had a 1990 JennAir dual fuel model with convection oven and I don't recall any annoying rattles when using the convect mode.  That oven, by the way, baked better than any oven I've ever used before or since.

Does it make the same rattling sound when the exhaust fan is turned on? A friend of mine has a slightly older Jenn-Air convection oven and if I recall correctly, it makes the same noise (with no rattling) as when the exhaust fan is turned on or when the convection oven is turned on.

On some Jenn-Air ranges/cooktops, the fan is held in place by 3 rubber mounts. Sometimes the squirrel cage becomes greasy and gets out of balance and bad rubber mounts might need to be replaced. They should be available at any parts store. I recently replaced them in my aunt's Jenn-Air cooktop and the rattling noise was gone.

"Was it difficult to correct?"

Not really. Just replace it.

Whirlpool took over Jenn-Air when they bought Maytag. Whirlpool has no intention of supporting Jenn-Air. WP has the Kitchen Aid brand for their premium stuff. They have no need for Jenn-Air to exist.
