Just an EASY

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

What an awesome machine! It is so quiet!
Love that aggressive wash action!
Beautiful!

How could anyone not be just nuts over that machine?

The long long coast after spin--so hypnotic. There is one other machine I remember doing this, and I think it is the Norge.

The Easy has it all: unrelenting agitation, spray rinse, overflow rinse, good looks, and velvet on the ears.

You had the camera trained on the water's edge and the drain holes for the grand throw--very nice, Jon. Thank You.

Neat to see how much water is in the tub after the coasting stops. Is it a 4 minute fill on the Easy or less?

(During the pause, I thought I heard a Blackstone draining in the distance.)

What a sweet Easy nightcap this was at bedtime.

Yes I certainly did forgo coffee after dinner. The Easy cast its spell and I just watched.

Mikeyd- "unrelenting agitation" LOVE THAT! Yes this Easy has one of the best "reveals" I've ever seen in an automatic! The machine in the background was the '56 Duo going into and out of spin.
I'll time the next rinse fill for you. It starts at spin end; but this machine has a weighted fill not a timed fill and that was set for "PART." fill which is about 3/4 way up the tub - for small loads or delicate items or 'unmentionables'.

Thanks, Jon

Weighted fill--that explains why there is so much water in the tub after the coast. The fill flume which your Easy shares with the Spindriers is so deceptively narrow, looking the same at regular pressure as it does at high. That little spigot always gives me a thrill with its ability to funnel a ton of water through so narrow a diameter. Smoke & Mirrors ;'D

About the 3/4 partial fill: have you noticed that the spiralator seems to work well in at almost every--if not all-- water levels. Sometimes, washing in her Easy Spin, my Aunt Margaret would not return the suds, and after the third and last load when she'd wash her dark house dresses, the water level would be at about half, and they's spiral around just fine, reminiscent of what would later become high efficiency washing. Vivid memory of the wonder of that.

I'm sure you've experimented with infinite water levels in your Glass-fronted Diamond Girl, testing Rosalie's. Hoping you have plans to make a full movie of her like you did for her automatic sister. Now, that would be the bomb

I used to have an old '60s S/Q set that would drift to a stop after spin. Incandescent dash lights. Looked so cool in the dark. And the bangin' solenoid. It was fun. And the dryer was gas with the big lint screen in the door.

Hey Jon, nice video and BEAUTIFUL machine!

But what's with this narrow vertical slit view that's less than 1/3 the size it could be???   Come on Mertle, turn that iBlab a 1/4 turn to the right (or left) so we can get the full size video!

Luv ya Jon!

Really Enjoyed it!!!!!!

What is the top spin speed on that machine? I have an old Easy Spindrier, with the metal spiralator. It makes the same sound and does an excellant job of cleaning. Thanks Again! Bobby

So that's what you've been saving her for....

Le grand debut a la televsion, n'est-ce pas?

I hope it's soon, since I don't have too many full-size fingernails left, having desperately waited so long to see the Diamond Girl shine.

Bobby didn't ask, but just in case somebody's wondering ~ The Easy Spin whirls at 900 rpms, shooting needle sprays through 1500 jetholes; the ETR (estimated rinse time) is 3 minutes: 1/2 minute hot and 2&1/2 minutes cold, according to the doctrine. You'll see this startling magic as soon as Cecil B. gets the movie wrapped.

Thanks!

Wow I had no idea, they spun so fast, thanks for answering my question.I think my frog-eye spins at 600RPM.I really like the Easy machines,I think they are underated. Good Luck with such a nice washer! Bobby

How Dry I am

I have always enjoyed watching the Easy and its slow but powerful action. I can not understand how GE, Easy, Frigidaire and Westinghouse with their dishwasher could all make a machine superior to anything else available and then recreate a design the next year that make the next models lessor. CR loved this machine and to see one in the flesh and in such great condition is a chance in a life time to watch. Has anyone used the matching dryer? Is it somewhat similar to Cornonado from the same era?
