Hey folks,

I haven't seen much discussion of these models on here.

I've had a MOL LG front load washer (about 5 years old) and a 10 year old LG gas dryer that was stacked on top. The LG developed this really odd pitting/ rough surface inside the drum the would snag shirts and delicates- learned the hard way after doing a load of gym clothes and having runs in some of my shirts.

I'm remodeling my laundry room to accommodate a stacked unit to add a shower, and decided to try one of these, rather than an LG WashTower. I'm not sure what the deal was with my LG (I wear jeans and heavy work clothes with metal buttons) but decided to give these a try.

The dryer is larger, and this model has a dedicated cold water supply for the steam, which is awesome. The cycle options are fewer than the LG, but the recirculating pump and dedicated rinse jet in the tub seem like nice features. The temperatures seem to be lower than the LG, but that's not necessarily a bad thing.

It's in my garage until I finish the laundry room, but here she is!

Good eye...

Yes, that's a 650T in the background. Not pictured is the Wally-Flex in the bathroom - It'll hopefully make cleaning the hinged lint filter a little easier!

I'm hoping for a better lint trap design - the LG would get a build up of lint in the bottom of the tray and then it wouldn't seat properly and stick up. I have an extra long crevice tool that I would use to clean it out.

It definitely should! They are really nice, that and the Vroom. And the F650t is a nice unit as well, my uncle owns one and something I wouldn't mind getting for my own home if I decide to not install my DrainVac Little Giant I already have. But I prefer a central vac with a bypass motor instead of thru-flow like the MD ModernDay M715h for example. That being said, I use a blue Boxlegend dryer vent vacuum attachment to clean mine out, does a good job. I'd be curious to hear if the Lux lint trap does a better job than the Washtower.

He knows ALL about vacuums... LOL

Nice Lux tower... Electrolux would definitely be a contender for my next FL washer... You just absolutely HAVE to check pockets diligently because they have no drain access door like the LG does... yet, they do on their smaller front loaders...

The drain access was the only downside...

That was my only hesitation with this unit- Even the new Whirlpool FL washers have drain access on the front panel. The door gasket seems pretty solid (likely won't let things slip through) but taking the control panels and the front panel off to get to the basket filter in the sump does not look ideal. In fairness, I had my LG for 5 years and never needed to pull the drain filter out to clear an actual clog or errant item - It was mainly just a maintenance habit.

The other difference I noticed is that the steam on this dryer isn't real heated steam like my LG was - Maybe that's the way with all of these units now, but it seems like a bit of a cop out to not have a steam generator, and rely on a fine mist of cold water to heat up in the drum of the dryer.
