my mother has this machine in her house as a permanent install and it still works great ! It does not get a lot of use and the upper rack has become very rusted. i have been researching this for 2 weeks now and keep hitting brick walls as far as finding this part. The only parts breakdown I can find is a very poorly copied manual that shows the original part number as E108753. i get nowhere with this number either. I did find a couple of listings on e-bay but cannot 100% confirm it is what i need so I am hesitant. I stumbled across this very informative forum during my search and figured " nothing ventured, nothing gained ".
Can anyone advise as to a solution or suitable replacement ? i sure do hate to replace a perfectly good machine because of a rusted rack. I'm not sure it can be re-coated but will try it if no other solution presnts itself. I am in Raleigh NC
Thanks very much for reading :)

RW:

If I'm not mistaken, the KDS-57A was the portable/convertible version of the KDS-17 undercounter machine.

If I'm correct (someone help me out here!), an upper rack for a KDS-17 should fit your machine. That still leaves the problem of finding one, but Lord knows this group has come up with stranger things....

i have found an upper rack for a KDS-16 but I must order it. It appears to be the same. can anyone confirm ? Thanks again for your time
