HELP!
I just bought a Kenmore Visi-matic and can not find info about it anywhere.
What I would like to know is, does anyone know how the filter that is on the top of the lid works? It is a hole in the top of the lid and it goes into a filter which consists of a brush that catches lint. It appears that a hose that recirculates should go in it but from where and how?
I would appreciate any more information about it. I paid $65 for it and it is in fair shape. It works and I plan to use it.

That Works!

DAH! I woke up this morning and thought what a drip I was! Of course, you are right but it seems as if something at the end of the hose is missing. It needs to be reduced in order to be able to fit in the filter hole.
I tried it this morning and it seems as if the timer doesn't work and there is only on place on the dial where it runs also I must look at the overload button, it seems to be frozen in place or is it a light? Also the lock to keep the wringer from swinging freely is not working. I will do some work on it. Thanks for your help.

I've had two of these Visi-Matic wringer washers - congrats on your find. If you look closely in the picture at the right side of the pink washer, you'll see the drain hose end that fits into the filter port on the lid. The drain spout "snaps" into the filter port, you activate the pump lever to start the pump and water is filtered through the brush while it washes. The port itself has a flow restrictor so the force of water is reduced as it's pumped through. If yours is missing the aluminum drain spout at the end of the hose, you won't be able to have the filtering while washing. You might be able to find another, check local service shops, etc.

Best of luck and enjoy the Energy-Star savings!
