Kenmore 70 series washer

For once I'm going to ask for helping with a washer! My next door neighbor's machine she feels isn't washing well.

Hi Greg. Looks like your neighbor has a 1991 built direct drive machine, built the 8th week of the year. It is a 1988 model (Kenmore often had models available for several years), and it is a 70 series model.

First thing I might suspect is agitator dogs, they are a very common failure item that seems to severely penalize the functionality of the Dual Action agitator in these machines.

Let us know what else might be going on. We have lots of DD experts here.

Agitator Dogs

Are a quick and simple job to do. Cheap too! Also make sure the agitator is bolted down tight enough. The bolt is in the agitator under the softner dispenser.

Did the neighbor who reported this say why she suspects it's not washing well? Any symptoms?
