Is there anyone interested in a 1972ish Kenmore 800 that is currently located in the Milwaukee, WI area. The appliance is in fairly good condition and works. It isn't the money, I just don't need it and don't want to see it go to the crusher. I hope someone can use/pick it up/have it shipped.. whatever. Let me know.

Dream machine

Fly up, rent a pickup, drive back. Still probably cheaper than shipping. Or, maybe shipping isn't as expensive as you might think. Check around, you may be surprised.

WOW! That's the EXACT Kenmore 800 my parents had for 16 years, beginning in 1971...down to the gold color. The tub was white, with a gold Super Roto-Swirl. This takes me back!

Agitator Cap

Yes, that's the cap my parents had in their model. Also, the words "Super Roto-Swirl" are molded into the gold plastic in one spot near the edge of the agitator skirt.

More pics of 800

I hope someone will adopt this washer. Perhaps there is a lonely 800 dryer out there missing its mate.

and the last one of the inside

has triple dispensers and sudsaver. I don't don't know why but I always thought it was so cool to see the sudsaver work. The machine quietly agitating on slow speed with no water splashing, then the water level slowly and silently going down in the tub while the water started sloshing in the washer. Then that weird sound as it got air in the line when the water line was toward the bottom of the tub. Memories, I don't think anyone makes sudsaver models anymore. The last I saw was on a kenmore model in 1998.

Ok......., This is not suppose to happen!
I found the gas dryer by my job today in white, it is consider as a drop off. I will be bringing it home tonight. The exterior paint is in great condition and the kick plate is missing but overall the control panel is pristine!

I just don't know what to do?

Help....

Just Do It!!!!

Jason, sometimes you just have to throw caution into the wind and make an impulsive decision. Shipping should run you less than $300, which is a small price to get your "dream machine". Go on, you know you want it, and its green, too. Jason, just do it!!!! Next wash-in is at your house! Todd

sudsave

JasonL, don't you have a bathtub in your home? Come on, don't let this hold you back.

Actually when I started refurbishing machines, as a teenager in '82, I would get these belt-drive machines and so often they had sudsavers but they didn't sell as good. So as a general rule BD whirlies and kennies and even the rare Maytag would have the suds valve and wires removed. I would replace the 2 hoses that fed the "valve loop" with the direct feed hose used in the non-suds models.

This kenmore 800 is still anatomically correct. I think I will connect the machine sometime in the next week and take some pics of the water running through the detergent dispenser, maybe operate the sudsaver, make sure everything is still functioning. I would make a movie but I don't know how to upload that YET. Although, I could make a DVD. Any takers?

green ??

I'm sorry, I'm sure your statement was made with good intentions but
tcox, are we blind, GREEN?
There is Sea Foam, Avacodo, Teal, there is NO "green".

This washer is what was originally Tawny Gold and then later Harvest Gold.

:-)
