Ok, I have an old Kenmore 587.702300 that gave up the farm about 2 years ago. It won't pump out water anymore. The reason I know this is not that I ran a load before finding this out, but that I started to. On this particular model, when you turn the dial to start it, it will pump out any remaining water from the bottom of the tub and in the drain line into the disposal in the sink. The last time I tried to run anything in it, it didn't have that familiar "tick, tick, tick, whirr, woosh, jut, jut, jut, jut, jut, jut that I have heard since I was three, it just hummed like there was something caught in the impeller. Although I still need to get it out from under the counter, I was wondering if anyone has any pointers on where I should get started, and if I need any special tools before I just start taking stuff apart willy-nilly. The last thing I want to be is a willy-nilly stuff taker aparter! I can remember replacing a broken door spring at 16 or 17, and feeling like hot stuff! Well, Mom was proud anyway.
