Kenmore Oven Question

I'm not too appliance savvy and wanted to get some opinions. I knew I shouldn't have done this, but I had a 5 year old Kenmore (I think Frigidaire made it) Flat-top oven/range that came with my house. I gave it to my mom as I have all 50's stuff in my kitchen now. Anyway... she is a big-time baker and I never cook, so don't know if she needs to get used to the Kenmore or what. She had been cooking on a 60's era Frigidaire that ran hot. Anyway, she's been baking cookies like crazy. Said yesterday the first batch took forever and the rest got done right away and she had to take them out early. Today she said she made another kind of cookie and said they didn't get quite done and she had to leave them in longer. Do you think the oven needs calibrated (can that still be done) or does it sound like she's just not used to it? I hope I don't have to swap out ovens again, but will have to if she starts getting foul. LOL! The reason I gave her this oven is because all their appliances are worn out and Avacado Green to boot. She is wanting to replace stuff with white appliances What do you guys think?

Buy an oven thermometer, check to see if it matches the set temp on the dial after 30 minutes. If it's running hot or cool, there is usually an adjustment on the back of the temperature dial - or, if it's electronic control, there is probably an adjustment somewhere...

What other avocado appliances are still in working order at your mom's? Someone here may want them.

right now she has a 1968 era Maytag washer/dryer pair. A 1978 era Amana fridge and a 1968 Frigidire Imperial portable dishwasher. The diswasher hasn't been used in ages, but did work when they quit using it. The Maytag washer works but is starting to have major issues.

If that dishwasher isn't being used, GO GET IT NOW!!! Is it front or top loading?

It's a front loader. They've kept it because of the butcher block top. The kitchen is an odd galley style. It's in an L shape with the kitchen sink in the front of the kitchen,(on the short wall) then along one wall runs the counter, then the dishwasher, stove, fridge, washer & dryer are ALL along the "long" wall. Never figured out why the house wasn't built with a built in dishwasher. My parents got sick of wheeling it over to the sink, so they quit using it about 10 years ago. The stove I just replaced was a late 60's Frigidaire "electra clean" model. I gave it to my buddy Greg (gansky1) on this forum.I think he is going to use it until his kitchen remodel is done. I was going to give him the Kenmore flat-top and then my mom hinted around for it, so I took that to her and gave him the Frigidaire. He just may get the flat-top after all if my mom doesn't get used to the Kenmore.... LOL!
