Hey! Launderess, this is exactly just like my Compact Dryer. I bought it 2nd Hand for $100.00 plus tax almost 1-year ago. It has been a great smaller Capacity Dryer. This being my 3rd or 4th Kenmore Compact 110-Volt Dryer. None of them have ever given me any problems, other than cleaning out the Lint, or maybe 1-Belt replacement.
As with my regular size Dryers, they've always have been routinely taken apart to clean out any extra Lint, to prevent Fires. I've also by suggestion of a Repair Tech, quite some time ago, have used Turbine Oil, to Lubricate the Drum Rollers and the Belt Tension Pulley. It can be purchased at most any Parts Departments, including the Sears Parts Department. What I like about it, is that it is in a soft Plastic/Rubber Bottle, with a Straw for concentrating the Oil right into the area, without getting it squirted all over everything else as well.

I just looked at the Model Number of my Kenmore Compact Dryer and it is 1-digit at the end off of this one. My Dryers Model Number is: 110-89722990. Launderess, notice on the bottom right of the Drum back, below the "Tear-Drop" Lint Filter? That is the Electronic Moisture Sensor, does your Whirlpool Dryer have the Sensor?

No, my dryer does not have a sensor. Too old for that feature, which one belives is a modern trickle down from larger dryers to promote energy savings.
Have seen those units in stores, well the Whirlpool models at least.
Used the vaccum and compressed air to clean out the area behind the lint filter on my dryer Sunday night. Then ran it on air for 10 minutes to flush all that disloged lint outside. Have neither the time nor inclination to take the back cover off to clean the insides as you do, maybe sometime.
