Hi all, any help would be appreciated here.
a few months ago i posted a thread about my Kirby not running in low speed mode with the floor nozzle. what i want to know is, are the safety switches easy to replace?
im asking this because i recently mailed Kirby and told them the problem i had and they said it sounded like the safety switch.
thanks in advance.
Phil.

Phil good question. Is the tab on your floor assembly intact and latched on correctly? I still have my late mom's G5, I do not know what the housekeeper sucked up but it needs a fan. If you get a Kirby thread going over there please hit me up. I also have a G5 I bought no troubles at all, but with a split level house you can never have too many. alr2903

Im guessing you mean the thing that the attachment pushes in to engage the switch?
im fairly sure it is because it works fine in high speed with the hose on.
Another question - how are you supposed to wash Kirby outer cloth bags? ive seen many a answer saying warm wash with mild detergent but that dosent exactly translate easy to me lol. so what is it? 30/40c quick wash? is it ok to use bio powder?
thanks again.
Phil

Phil I have heard of many washing Kirby bags by machine.  Many times it is just as easy to get the old 5 gallon bucket out you wash your car with add some dishwashing dawn soak it plunge it repeat if needed if its an estate find you might want to use some old time brown lysol.  rinse rinse rinse rinse till clear and put it on the clothes line in the sun.  I use no hotter than needed. I know you will get other posts but the strength of detergent and sloshing/soaking time is probably best judged while  you are in the process. Arthur
