Kitchen Aid KUDS230B0 - Stuck on “Heating Water”

Hey all,

After searching all around, I figured you all would be the absolute best to be able to help with my vintage dishwasher. This KA KUDS23 came with our home and is original to the house. The house also has the KA modular cooktop system too, but that is for a different day.

Anyway, our KA dishwasher has been working great up until this evening where it will no longer progress beyond the Heating Water stage. The water pump is working well as it will drain when canceling and refill when starting it over, but it will not progress beyond that first heating cycle.

Any help would be appreciated, We purchased a new dishwasher because we are a family of 5 that really needs one, but I want to get it up and running again because I know it is one of the last “good ones”

KUDS23 Stuck In Water Heating Mode

If it continues to heat and starts getting steaming hot it has a bad thermostat.

 

If it just sits there not heating it may have a bad heater, bad limit thermostat, bad timer, or a simple burned wire on the element etc.

 

I need more information to venture a more accurate guess.
